Tiny snapshots

It's a beautiful day and I get up and go outside. Something I lost the habit of doing during the past few years of moving, mental trauma and Covids. I took my dip pen and ink with me and spent an hour standing in front of an oak  tree trying to do a drawing. One drawing doesn't sum the experience of going out so I ended up creating a little cartoon strip of my walk. Tiny snapshots that add up to the bigger picture of going out for a walk.

I did try tidying up the original scan but it took time and lost something of its uniqueness. The sketchbook gutter (the bit down the middle where the stitching resides) is a bit of a problem, causing blur and shadow. If I was to take this further into print I would cut the pages out of the sketchbook and scan them flat, destroying the sketchbook in the process.

  2. Is there a word for the motion blur effect of tree branches and foliage coming towards you?
