When Inspiration Dries Up

The pencilling of this was great, It flowed and took no time at all. I was excited to ink it thinking about the mark making and pen work involved. When it came to it though it was a nightmare. I had built up expectations at the outcome too much. It took days to complete. Due to the cold, wet weather the ink didn't dry and smudged when I erased the pencil lines. I managed to correct the mistakes but I haven't struggled so much to make a page in months! Panel six with the coughing fisherman took over five attempts to get a version that I was half happy with.

The colouring was off too. I wasn't prepared to spend more time on getting it right so went with the first pass. Mediocre! My answer to this is to push through with blunt force.
