Eventually warm and pleasant enough to walk around Pugneys lake with shirt sleeves rolled up, impressed by how close Wakefield Cathedral looked today. A couple of miles just over the hill, makes you realise how important this land was back in the Battle of Wakefield 1460. I don't know how 'ancient' the footpath is around the base of  Sandal Castle is but it feels old, with high hedgerows either side and a stony, meandering path to walk on. There's an old tree, there making up part of the hedgerow boundary that someone has carved a large heart into. It's a bit of a scramble up the embankment and before I realise it half the tree is climbed.

These diary pages were okay, not my favourite ones to do compared to what's gone before. Same process, of taking reference photos and audio notes with my phone and working on the page artwork back at home. Someone made the decision to discard that bicycle tyre into the care of the trees.
